Bosses of Birmingham Pride have this morning announced that Gossip lead singer, Beth Ditto, will be appearing at the popular two-day LGBT festival taking place in May.

Ditto is an LGBTQ international icon and along with Gossip, they broke in to the mainstream with the release of their third album's title track, ‘Standing in the Way of Control’, a track in response to the US government's ban on gay marriage.

Ever since, her solo shows have been selling out all over the world with her stand out, criticaly acclaimed ‘Beth Ditto EP’ plus she has had huge success with her first solo album ‘Fake Sugar’.

Beth Ditto is the second artist to be announced, joining Birmingham born ‘Hurtin Me’ star, Stefflon Don.

Birmingham Pride is set in the heart of the city's gay village and attracts over 50,000 people each year. This year's two-day celebration, featuring the theme 'Be You', takes place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 May and tickets are available from birminghampride.com.
